GO’s Functional Literacy Program covered grades 1-3. We expanded our classes to now include grades 4-6!

GO’s Book Club is for students grades 4-6, which focuses on reading comprehension and writing skills. They read together as a class and discuss questions in groups, learning to express themselves verbally and in writing.

We began in the summer of 2025 and continue to offer these classes this school year. They are reading both classic and modern books, such as Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White, A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L’Engle, and a retelling of Robin Hood by Bob Blaisdell.

Curently, students are reading these books on old tablets, which need to be replaced or repaired. Many of these tablets were purchased in 2022 used and refurbished, but they are getting slow and worn down.

If you are able to support our students, we would greatly appreciate donations to replace our old tablets. Replacing our tablets can provide education for students for years to come and be used to read hundreds of books! And to purchase hard copy books for them to read at home.
